Can you use old paint for primer instead of using kilz or something like that?

NO -- not on ';raw/virgin'; surfaces. Use a primer.

If you're painting over a painted surface, then your primer is already on the wall. Just make sure it's clean -- grease free.Can you use old paint for primer instead of using kilz or something like that?
no the primers have different resinsCan you use old paint for primer instead of using kilz or something like that?
You can but why would you want to. When you do a project you might as well do it right the first time just remember ';the quality of a project is long remembered after the cost is long forgotten';
no you can not use old paint for primer. you must use a primer like kilz for walls
You can, although kilz or another primer would minimize the flashing and imperfections. However, if you do a good job and double or even triple coat it it will look fine.
it really depends on what your priming, raw wood , or walls you could use old latex paint on your walls/ ceilings if it is still good and has been kept a a steady temp, but i would use a oil primer on any raw wood
